Connecting In Groups
And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Acts 2:44-46 (NASB)
Summary
Today in our second week of the series “Movement”, Pastor Brian talked about the importance of each of us “Connecting in Groups”. We learned three reasons why connecting in groups is critical to the life and health of every Christian and church. Small groups are a place to be known as we participate in life together and develop intimate relationships with one another. As we have conversations with a small group we grow spiritually which leads us to invite others in order to multiply. The Acts model for discipleship is the model for a healthy church today.
Discussion
- Why is it important to understand that the scriptures are about Jesus instead of us?
- How does knowing that help us to live in victory rather than defeat?
- In what ways do you struggle with defeat instead of the power of the resurrection?
- What are some ways we can begin proclaiming the victory of His story rather than the sadness of your own story?
Prayer
Pray to get a revelation of the importance of the scripture being about Jesus. Confess areas of our life where we make the scripture about us. Ask God to help you to live in the hope and power of the resurrection. Commit to stepping out of the defeat of sin and live in the truth of Jesus Christ.
