Luke: Jesus for Everyone

The Thief on the Cross

Luke 23:42-43

And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

This morning Pastor Brian continued the series: “Luke-Jesus for Everyone”. We learned that we can never be too far gone and it is never too late to have a life altering, eternity changing experience with Jesus Christ. The story of the Thief on the Cross, we saw that Jesus gives life to those who seek salvation.

  • Think about the setting in Luke 23. How would you react to Jesus, if you were the Thief on the Cross?
  • Have you even experienced a time where things didn’t go according to your plan, but looking back you see how things went according to God’s plan? How do you react now to those past situations or events?
  • Just like the Thief, have you ever admitted that you deserved punishment for your sin? Explain

Pray for God’s will to be done in and through your life. Confess your sins to Jesus. Ask for forgiveness from those sins, and a better understanding of God’s plan for your life. Commit to seek out God’s plan for your life this week.
