Legacy Milestones: A Path for Families

Deuteronomy 6:5-7

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.6 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.7You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.


Valley View Church is not going to sit by allow a generation of youth and families’ drift into the secular brokenness. We are going to push back and do everything we can make a difference and restore Christ as the center of every home and every family.

We are committed to intentionally partnering parents or guardians to walk step-by-step with them in the bringing up of our children. It is critical that we effectively guide them to experience real satisfaction in Jesus Christ and live as a life long follower of His.

This is the heart and the hope behind what we call:

The Legacy Milestone Path

This is a path for families, a partnership between church and home to capture the next generation to know and love Jesus Christ.

  • Family Commitment (Birth-4)

    Understanding your role as the primary faith trainer for you children and family.

  • Bible Discovery (K-1st)

    This is an Feature List Item that is part of an Feature List. Notice the connector between the three graphics to show that they are related.

  • Gospel Foundation (2nd-3rd)

    Teaching your child to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

  • Preparing for Adolescence (4th-5th)

    Preparing your child to embrace their identity in Christ as a teenager.

  • Purity for Life (6th-8th)

    Leading your teenager to live a lifetime of biblical purity.

  • Rite of Passage (9th-10th)

    Equipping your teenager for biblical manhood or womanhood.

  • Live Your Legacy (11th-12th)

    Launching your teenager to be a life-long follower of Jesus Christ.


  • Share what it means to you to image your child or our youth living in the world everyday looking to Jesus alone for their satisfaction.
  • How do you see that families need help in raising children to know and love Jesus Christ?
  • What do you like most about the Legacy Milestone Path presented?
  • If you have kids, where do they fall on the path? How will the Milestone offer you relevant help?


Pray together with those in your home. Thank God for the offering us real satisfaction in Jesus Christ. Confess that you need help and need the church as a partner to raise godly kids. Ask for forgiveness and for a renewed commitment to His plan and His priorities for you and your family. Commit to following the map at Valley View Church as it is designed to guide you and our children to experience real satisfaction in Jesus Christ.
