Catch the Vision

Mission & Measures

Matthew 20:18-20

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Summary

The Vision for Valley View Church is the Great Commission in our context. Making disciples of all people leads Valley View Church to impact every life in every home across our entire community of SW Louisville, guiding everyday people into our passionate call to live fully satisfied in Jesus Christ.

We measure our success by asking six questions:

How am I experiencing God in everyday life?
How is my dependence on Jesus growing daily?
How am I living in the freedom of the Gospel?
Who knows the real me?
How am I serving others out of what God has given me?
Who do I know that is close to me but far from God?

Discussion

What is your first response to our Great Commission Vision? How is your faith challenged by it?
Who can recite the mission statement from memory? Ask them to share it (Guiding everyday people to experience real satisfaction in Jesus Christ).
Which mission measure stands out to you the most? Why?
What do you like or appreciate most about the vision plan God has given to Valley View Church?

Prayer

Pray with those in your home. Thank God for being a God of order and planning and inviting us into His plan. Confess the measures that impact you the most. Ask for forgiveness and guidance into the mission and strategy of Valley View. Commit to helping the church accomplish its mission by living out the mission and measures in your own life.
