Prove It
An Unexpected Way
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
-1 John1:5-7 (NASB)
Summary
Today Pastor Brian continued our study in 1 John. Through the message today, you see that your relationship with God is secure. Everyone who believes in Jesus for eternal life is saved and saved forever. However, your fellowshipand harmony with God is dependent on you walking in the Light of His truth. If you abandon the truth and live in sin you choose to break fellowship and harmony with God.
Discussion
- Have you ever felt consumed by the darkness? Explain.
- What area of your life needs to be exposed by the light? Discuss how your family can help you have freedom from that this week.
- Discuss how we can deceive ourselves? Why is this unhealthy?
- How can you embrace those around you that have confessed their sin?
Prayer
Pray to have an honest heart before God. Confess the sin you are struggling with. Ask God for understanding on how to embrace those who stepped into the light.
