Lord, I Need You

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Summary

Today Pastor Matt taught on crying out to God for help. Every one of us needs help. We are not God. We have needs. We have weaknesses. We have confusion. We need help. But the good news is this: We have a God who cares for us and wants to help us.

Main Points

  • You need help.
  • God wants to help.
  • God helps us through prayer, His presence, and His people.

Discussion

  • Share a story of a time when you desperately needed help but you struggled to admit it?
  • Name one example of God being your Helper?
  • How does it make you feel to know that God is watching over you, day and night?

Prayer

Pray together with those in your home. Thank God for his unfailing love and protection. Ask Him to reveal things in your life that you run to in times of need. Commit to praying daily, “Help me Lord, I need you.”
