Brian’s Bio

Like many of us,

Brian’s story is a testimony of God’s amazing grace. From a place of brokenness as a teenager, God transformed his life and renewed his heart and mind through the power of the gospel.

Brian grew up in Houston, TX. His family did not attend church, his parents were divorced when he was young, and he made many bad choices that resulted in anger, drug abuse, fighting, running away, and even dropping out of High School in the 10th grade.

He was 19 years old when he realized he was heading down the wrong path and needed to change. He quit abusing drugs and hanging out with negative influences. A year passed, but he still felt empty inside. In an effort to become a “good person” and under the influence of his father, he decided to go to church. It was at Second Baptist Church in Houston, TX that he heard for the very first time that no one can be good enough, but Christ died for us “yet while we were still sinners” (Ro. 5:8) and he who believes in Christ receives eternal life as a free gift (Ro. 4:4-5;

Eph. 2:8-9). Several weeks later, he received the gift of eternal life, believing in Christ alone as his Savior. His life was forever changed by God’s grace. He is a man passionate about the gospel and glory of Jesus.

Brian’s Christian life has been a steady commitment of perseverance yet a path filled with God’s blessing. He earned his G.E.D and enrolled in community college. Two years later he transferred to Texas State University – San Marcos, where he got involved in campus ministry and the local church. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Sociology, he attended Dallas Theological Seminary and earned two master’s degrees in Christian Education and Biblical Studies. He is currently working on a Doctorate of Ministry degree in Pastoral Leadership at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. God has truly transformed his heart, mind, and life!

Through this process Brian has always been motivated by his life verse, Acts 20:24.

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.Acts 20:24 (NIV)

As Brian enjoyed spiritual growth in his own life, through the local church and various Para-church ministries, God used Brian to disciple others as well. After praying and seeking godly counsel he felt God calling him to full-time ministry. As he tells it, he realized that nothing would give him greater purpose than serving God and others in the context of the local church. Since then his passion and experience with discipleship with a wide range of ages has grown.

Brian served in youth ministry at Fellowship Church in Dallas, TX. He then moved to serve as the College Pastor at Countryside Baptist Church in Stillwater, OK, home of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. While there he built a strong college ministry that impacted hundreds of students. Currently, he is the Generations and Teaching Pastor, serving on the executive leadership team, and overseeing adult ministry as well as the entire discipleship process at Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy, TX., a church with over 3,000 in weekly attendance. As teaching pastor Brian has the privilege to exercise his gift and passion for preaching, which is down-to-earth yet expository-based sermons that are filled with passion and relevance for everyday life.

Ultimately, Brian desires to serve Christ, love the congregation, and work with a staff who are all serving together for the same purpose, to accomplish the same goals, with an all inclusive strategy to reach the entire church, from cradle to grave, in spiritual maturity for the gospel and the glory of God.
